Celeste emerald and diamond cluster engagement ring
A gorgeous little cluster engagement ring with lots of eye-catching details, Celeste was made in the late 20th century, but very much in the Art Deco style. She bears all the hallmarks of the era: a striking octagonal shape that was one of the most popular ring designs in the 1920s; a burst of colour in the form of a 0.23 carat round emerald; a combination of metals, with a 9-carat white gold setting paired with a 9-carat yellow gold band; and delicate millegrain detailing – a jewellery making technique that uses tiny metal beads to form a lace-like border on a jewel. Made in Birmingham, England, the emerald is secured in place by what is known as a rubover setting, with the circle of yellow gold giving added protection to the centre stone.
