Ava ruby and diamond Edwardian engagement ring
A pretty pink-tinged ruby sits at the heart of this charming Edwardian engagement ring, with two diamonds set either side of the centre stone. A star shape has been carved by hand into the platinum setting, which was used for the first time in jewellery in the Edwardian era (circa 1890-1915). Its malleable properties allowed craftsmen to introduce fine detailing into jewellery designs for the first time, like the delicate millegraining - tiny platinum beadwork - that forms the silhouette of the star.
