Evelyn mid-century 0.50 carat diamond engagement ring
A stylish engagement ring set with a fabulous 0.48 carat old brilliant cut diamond, this is a quintessential mid-century design. Following an ad campaign by De Beers featuring the now-iconic slogan 'Diamonds are Forever', single stone engagement rings were the height of fashion in the 1950s. This classic eight-claw design is set with six small diamonds either side of the centre stone. Mixing metals also became popular in the 50s, with the pure white of the platinum serving to amplify the brilliance of the diamonds. The beautiful diamond is an old brilliant cut, a charming cut that gives off plenty of sparkle, much like its modern-day equivalent, the round brilliant cut. A genuine vintage treasure.
